What options are there for how I can access coaching and what does a typical coaching cycle look like?  Here we explain a few options and steps you might undertake in a typical coaching cycle with me. 5 Steps to Coaching Success

This is where we start. This complimentary one-hour is in-person face-to-face wherever possible. Though with COVID we may also meet virtually instead.

I like to hear what you want from coaching and learn a bit about your work context and challenges. We get a chance to get acquainted with each other and talk over what’s involved in my coaching approach and its fit with what you want.
We get a feel for whether we’re likely to be comfortable enough working with each other, whether the relationship will be mutually beneficial and you decide if you want to continue with me.
By the way, I don’t tie people into long-term contracts. You can re-assess after 3 or so sessions whether coaching is working for you and if you want to continue.

You’ll want to know what your options are for how coaching is delivered, and steps involved. Especially in these troubling COVID times, where in-person sessions may not always be possible.

A typical coaching cycle for me normally consists of 5 x 2-hour sessions held every 3 weeks or so to keep up the momentum. Sessions can be face-to-face in same physical location, virtual (using a platform we’re both comfortable with), by phone (more shorter sessions – eg. 10 x 1-hour 2 weeks apart) – or a blend.
I know that situations change at work so other arrangements: are possible to suit your own timing and commitments and I’m flexible about switching between face-2-face, virtual or phone depending on what’s going on for you.
If we’re distant from each other, virtual may be the only option though I personally think a face-to-face session where possible and if it’s safe, at the start and end of our coaching series can be conducive to a better, more human connection.

From the time you commence coaching with me to completion, expect to see a steady flow of coaching communiques, reading material and worksheets to plot your coaching progress.

Before we start, I like to get a bit of background on you and your coaching interests so I’ll send out some pre-start questions, introductory readings and confirmation about how our coaching sessions will proceed
Regular inter-session communiques outline what we covered, try-out actions you identify along with readings, checklists, activities and tools to try. Coaching progress record sheets help you journal what we cover in each session.
I also provide free of charge, short phone/skype/email support between sessions. For example, you might ring me to work through an issue that’s arisen for 15 minutes or phone for a 10 minute phone check-up or reflection-time.

During the coaching time we have together, you’ll have a chance to build your own personalised toolkit to support your coaching practice and try-outs, and sustain yourself into the future after coaching finishes.

Materials we regularly provide to our coaching clients include tools and excerpts from our various self-coaching guides that accompany our public coaching clinics.
We may also provide you with an entire program guidebook if that is relevant to the focus of our coaching sessions together.
You’ll also receive copies of articles, factfiles and other readings pertinent to the particular areas we cover in coaching.

Coaching doesn’t have to stop when your sessions conclude. My leadership learning programs can be attended in conjunction with coaching to continue to build your toolkit or extend your skills into new frontiers.

Discounted fees apply when you come along to any of our public programs or sign-up for an on-line learning program while involved in coaching with me.
Add an intensive injection of skills and knowledge for a particular learning area or simply get together with like-minded people to try-out actions from our one-on-one sessions.
Some of our clients return for a second round of coaching after taking a learning break to work on strategies we’ve covered in sessions so far. coaching can always be resumed any time you feel the need for some one-on-one interaction.
